PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -

The Portland Trail Blazers have assigned rookie Guard Armon Johnson to the NBA Development League's Idaho Stampede.

Johnson, selected in the second round of last year's draft out of Nevada, is averaging 3.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and just over eight minutes in 28 games this season with the Blazers.

He is the second Blazer to be assigned this season to the Stampede, Portland's D-League affiliate. Rookie forward Luke Babbitt played for Idaho for 10 days in December.Cop

Portland, OR (Sports Network) - The Portland Trail Blazers signed center Chris Johnson to a 10-day contract on Monday. The Trail Blazers were granted an NBA hardship exception in order to expand their roster to 16 players and sign Johnson, who was playing for Dakota of the NBADL. The 25-year-old posted per-game averages of 17.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 3.07 blocks in 27 starts for Dakota this season.
